Self Service FAQs

How much time should I book?
This depends on your dog and their coat type however we would recommend: 45 minutes for a small dog, 60 for a medium dog and 90 minutes for a large dog. A thicker or longer coat type may well need additional time. Feel free to contact us for advice if you are unsure. Unfortunately we are unable offer refunds for grooms which finish early.

What happens if I overrun?
When you book your slot we will talk through your dogs size and coat type to ensure that you book the right amount of time to complete your groom. However, if on the day you feel you need more time then we will charge an additional £5.00 per 15 minutes used. Time used will be rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes.

Do you offer a walk in service?
Our working salon prides itself on offering a calm, relaxing environment for dogs on a one to one basis, we therefore pre-book all of our grooming slots to ensure there is no crossovers between dogs. Due to this we are unable to offer a walk in service.  Feel free to contact us to book in advance.

What is the minimum age for booking?
To ensure safety we ask that anyone booking to use the salon is 18 years of age or older.

Can I bring my family along?
Bathing your dog is a fabulous way to bond as a family but our salon space is limited so we ask that no more that two people are present during the groom. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I bring more than one dog along?
Yes, as long as you are able to groom the dogs in the time slot you have booked. For larger dogs you may wish to book to two separate self service slots.

I haven't used a salon before, are you able to help me?
When you arrive at our salon for the first time we will of course talk you through the safe use of all the equipment and help you to choose to correct shampoo, conditioner and coat sprays. We will also be on hand during the groom time, just in case you get stuck.  For future visits we can skip the intro as long as your happy for us to do so.

How do I get my dog into the bath or on to the grooming table?
There is a non slip ramp available for use for both the bath and table, in addition the grooming table is height adjustable for your comfort. If your larger dog needs a little persuasion then we  would of course be happy to lend a hand.

My dog uses specialist shampoo can I bring this along?
Of course you can! We cannot store medicated shampoos/conditioners on site though so please remember to take it home with you and bring it back for your next visit.

Does my dog need vaccinations?
All our clients are asked to ensure that their dogs are fully vaccinated while in our company. You will be asked to sign our Terms and Conditions prior to using the facilities in which is it stated that your dog is fully covered. We will also ask you to bring along your dogs vaccination record.

Can I use the salon when my dog is in season?
Our salon is used by both male and female dogs, for the comfort of all we ask that your dog is not in season when being groomed.

Will there be other dogs in the salon at the same time?
No, we offer exclusive use of the salon during your stay however,  we do have two very accepting dogs of our own in the house.  If you're dog is not tolerant of other dogs then please let us know ahead of your booking so that we can make arrangements for our dogs to be out of the area on your arrival and as you leave.

What happens if I discover fleas or ticks when grooming my dog?
If you suspect that your dog has fleas then you must inform us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to cancel the grooming appointment and charge a fee of £15.00 to cover the cost of cleaning the environment. If you discover that your dog has ticks then again, please inform us, we have tick removal tools available and may be able to help with removal.

What happens if I discover matting on my dog?
As responsible groomers we work in conjunction with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 which covers the prevention of unnecessary suffering to animals. Matting can be painful and their removal must be carefully considered. If you discover matting on your dog during washing then please let us know, we will be happy to assess the matting, offer advice and perhaps book your dog in for professional matt removal service.

Is there parking available?
Yes, however parking is limited so we ask our clients to bring just one vehicle.
